We are looking for an outstanding lawyer with at least 5-10 years of solid commercial and/or insurance litigation experience, including some big-law firm experience, to work in our Southern Marin office.

With offices in Orange County and Marin County, our unique small AV-rated law firm handles significant insurance and bad faith cases for consumers and assists members of our nationwide network on the insurance, product liability, PI and internet-related actions we generate nationwide, including class actions and MDLs. We are currently involved in several high-profile matters, which will occasionally involve intense effort.
The attorney we bring on board will work directly with the firm's partners yet have significant responsibility to handle cases, from start to finish, including client intake, preparation of pleadings, propounding discovery demands, interviewing witnesses, responding to discovery, conducting and defending depositions, reviewing evidence and documentation obtained in discovery, drafting, finalizing and arguing complicated pre-trial motions, helping develop and revise case strategy, and conducting or assisting at mediations, arbitrations and trials with and against other outstanding law firms.

The candidate should have great people skills, yet be hard driving when appropriate. He or she must have successfully handled multiple aspects of multiple matters, had meaningful hands on experience in a busy, highly regarded litigation practice, ideally including experience in class actions and MDL litigation, and be able to hit the ground running.

In-depth insurance industry experience and/or having authored extensive published articles would be major pluses.

Requirements:
• 5-10+ years of substantive civil litigation excellence, preferably in both federal and state courts, including several years of large law firm litigation experience. Experience in complex cases, with class action and MDL expertise would be a plus and high-level insurance litigation an extra plus.
• Admitted to practice in California, with a solid record of academic excellence at a top-tier law school, ideally with law review experience.
• Self-starter, extremely intelligent, entrepreneurial, high-energy level with an outstanding work ethic and the highest integrity, yet team-oriented.
• Excellent public speaking and advocacy skills and the ability to relate to a wide-cross section of people.
• Excellent writing ability, including the ability to quickly and clearly explain legal issues to the general public orally and in writing, ideally with an extensive writing portfolio.
• Ability to do occasional domestic travel on short notice to argue motions, conduct discovery, and confer with co-counsel and opposing counsel.

We prefer a full-time hire, but would consider a reduced hours schedule, including some flextime and work from home during less intense periods, so long as you will be available full-time plus when needed for deadlines, court appearances, depositions, etc.
